Terrui fans and drives can be linked into the system as they are. The Smart Edge Controller manages devices over RS485, and the LoRa units add a wireless path for fans that are hard to cable. Equipment from other manufacturers is outside the standard configuration — contact Terrui with the details of your fans and drives.

Where does the LoRa Monitoring Unit get installed?

Slave units are installed at the fan, typically inside the fan electrical box where the drive is. The master unit sits on the control side, next to the Smart Edge Controller or wired to it over RS485.

Is an internet connection required?

No. Control strategies are stored and executed on the Smart Edge Controller, and normal operation does not depend on the internet. The controller has WiFi and Ethernet connections available for optional data upload and system updates.

How do we check whether a fan is communicating properly?

The LoRa Monitoring Unit has three status lights for the RS485 link, the master/slave mode and the wireless link, and its display reads live drive data such as speed, voltage and fault codes at the unit. The controller also shows each device's state in its device list.

What languages does the controller support?

The display switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Interface language versions can be customized for export markets — tell us the language you need when ordering.

Types of IOT System

How the Two Work Together

Barns with existing Terrui fans and drives can be brought under automatic control without replacing the fans and without pulling new cable across the barn: a slave unit is added at each fan, a master unit is connected on the control side, and the fans appear in the controller's device list like wired ones. This matters most in long barns, multi-bay layouts and retrofit projects, where running RS485 cable to every fan is the expensive part.
