The LoRa Monitoring Unit sits at the fan end of the system. It bridges RS485 and the LoRa wireless link, so a fan with a drive can join the IOT System without a long cable run back to the controller. Each unit works as master or slave: one master unit links to the control side, while slave units are installed with the fans, typically inside the fan electrical box. A digital display and three keys are used to set the channel, address and transmit power on site; the settings are kept after power loss. Three status lights show the state of the RS485 link, the master/slave mode and the wireless link, so a communication problem can be traced to one end without test equipment.
